General Farwell is a Folk/Rock band from Central and Midcoast Maine. They write and play songs that tell stories about stone walls, auctioneer’s daughters, getting let off with a warning, and especially, themselves. In the tradition of cosmic Americana, their influences range from Pete Seeger to The Band to Cake to overheard conversations between old friends. Their performances are at once tight and present, while always maintaining the warm and close feeling of “friends figuring it out as they go along”. Combining the sublime keyboard work of Em Fitzgerald, the electrifying and heart-wrenching guitar and vocals of Aaron Limberger, the sturdy rhythm guitar and lead vocals of Matthew Hawkins, and the beating heart of Isaac Raven’s drumming, General Farwell is a powerful voice in the world of folk-rock.
